The part is a replica of an actual planet Earth globe - including spin axes and a complex surface finish (oceans, continents, etc.)

Challenge in detail:
In the past, programming for even slightly inclined surfaces has been troublesome. Now, the challenge is being met to realize process-intensive, effective 5-axis machining and fine contouring in one machine with a one-time setup.

What's so special about this case?
The wide tilting angle of the A-axis (from +30 to -120 deg) allows the end-user to execute undercuts on workpieces such as this sphere at a single setup. The demo illustrates a truly demanding 5-axis continuous machining with a consistently high precision output.
